Whennothingwasheardabouttherabbitsforsomeweeks,theotheranimalsdemandedtoknowwhathadhappenedtothem.Thewolvesrepliedthattherabbitshadbeeneatenandsincetheyhadbeeneatentheaffairwasapurelyinternalmatter.Buttheotheranimalswarnedthattheymightpossiblyuniteagainstthewolvesunlesssomereasonwasgivenforthedestructionoftherabbits.Sothewolvesgavethemone.“Theyweretryingtoescape,”saidthewolves,“and,asyouknow,thereisnoworldforescapists.”
